Need advice on my HR career in Oz?
I am a HR professional from India recently migrated to Oz. I have been hunting for a job at mel for quite a while, but dint succeed. Despite the fact that I worked for a giant MNC, I guess my experience overseas is being overlooked. I apply for jobs in the Aussie way (I read a lot of HR books and magazines) but I barely get a positive response. My spouse suggests doing a Postgrad, but I am hesitant as I am already a HR graduate with 5 years of extensive experience as a HR generalist (from sourcing candidates to exit interviews). I understand that the difference b/w local and overseas HR experience would be in terms of Labour laws, payroll components and sometimes employee relations. But am I so underskilled that I cannot be offered a chance, despite having experience in SAP, performance management systems, training calendars and OHS procedures???? If so, what do I do next in order to find a job? I have been into this profession so deeply that its almost impossible for me to switch my career. Can any HR professional or career counsellor or a recruiter give me some guidance in thsi matter??? Thank you in advance
