What to say to your boyfriend when he looses his job?!?! PLEASE HELP. He is very angry!!?

Right now, i was on yahoo answers whining about my insecurity. What an idiot I am!! Anyway, he texted me and said he is very angry that he lost his job. What can i say or do to make things better?!?! He is 26 and hates it when people undermine him. Please advise!!
