What to wear??????????

I have my athletics carnival on Wednesday. I have to wear a shirt in house colour (maroon). So I have a maroon singlet top. i am planning to wear a white one underneath it maybe, but im not sure what kind of shorts/pants to wear? Remember its early autumn where I am. thanks for your help in advance
