Will Russians restore the monarchy?
Actually contrary to what the people before me said it's becoming more likely everyday. In a poll taken in 2006 it showed that 20% of Russians supported monarchical restoration. I'm sure by now the numbers have grown. Some of Russia's most respectable public figures have declared themselves as Monarchist, most notably Russian director Nikita Mikhalkov. And in general Russians are growing more proud of their Imperial past. Also there are many Russians who could be convinced to support monarchical restoration. If the Russian Monarchist movement can organize under a candidate for the throne and have good party leadership then it can become a very serious force in Russian Politics.
